Derek

^it does...its just deeper than i would think considering the towers slender design...not sure how deep but it is but its gonna have 183 spots underground

I LOVE how dense this portion of downtown is going to become. I can't wait till all these towers are up! :)

I think this project will fit really well into that area.

This project seemed to get going fast as far as clearing the site and digging the hole. It has seemed to me though that not much has been happening lately. From an outsider's perspective it seems only the crane has gone up but I'm sure there's more to it that we don't know about.

like i said, the hole is massive for this thing which is probablly slowing it down a bit...lets hope its not another Vantage Pointe...:(

hmmmmmmm..............I'll have to check the webcam tomorrow to see what's up

I love this tower and it's great location. A pic of the crane from ground level.

The link to the Sapphire website http://www.sapphiretower.net/home.htm Check out the website video to see more angles of the tower. Looking good!

^^That's the first time I've seen it in Spanish. I'm guessing that they change the sayings all the time. What do you expect from a contemporary art museum? ;)

Just snapped these from the webcam and it appears that things are progressing normally with construction activity - open gate to the site, guys in hardhats, the office door open, etc. I imagine most of the work is being done in the hole. Remember how long it took Vantage Pointe to rise out of the ground?

Don't scare me like that ;)

Can we get a rendering of San Diego in 2010?

^^I'd love to see that, also. Maybe one of the other SD forumers can create a mockup?

Derek
04-24-2007, 07:12 AM
yeah, i would definitly do it, except for the fact that i suck at life on computers...

i could however go to the CCDC office and take a picture of thier downtown SD model with future and planned projects and projects underconstruction...which is somewhat a good representation of how SD will look in the years to come

Sapphire appears to be working on the 1st floor/base of the tower. It should probably rise in synch with the Bosa highrise next door which is on the base as well...

This project is out of the ground and is moving faster than the Bosa project now!
