We need one of these here.

Flame away.

Let's start by saying that the Flames are slipping quickly as the Avalanche are on a roll, and the Oilers are out of a playoff spot altogether.

It looks like the battle of Alberta will be a go after all. I'm not sure which golf course will host the battle, but that's what we're looking at.

I see this thread getting closed in a very short time.

But while we are here, Calgary is better, Edmonton is no longer competition. ;)

between medicore height skyscrapers, an international airport in another city, and pot holes the size of the grand canyon, i could sit here and make fun of Edmonton all night.

:haha:

fact is i love your city more then my own. but i'll jump on an Edmonton bashing bandwagon anytime as long as its in jest.

Many cities have their airports in another city. Look at Kiev's airport! We're just like our Motherland cousins!

at least you dont have to go down 16th ave N to head to Banff (if you dont go through cochrane that is) when coming from Edmonton. Worst part of the trans-canada highway, much worse the yellowhead in Edmonton. At least most of the lights are gone on the yellowhead now.

no just take glenmore to westhills and turnoff their. cant remember the highway name but it goes by elk valley or whatever that high end housing area is called. saves about 30 minutes off the trek to banff. from my old house in the southeast i could be in banff in an hour and fifteen minutes

The turn off near westhills would be Sarcee, which would then take you back to 16th Ave, just past most of the lights. The high end housing you are thinking of is probaboly Elbow Valley. To get there though you would continue on Glenmore. Past that you'll hit highway 22 (at which point Glenmore is Highway 8), where you turn north and take that to the Trans Canada. The 22 also runs through Cochrane.
