Great photos flash. I will be doing the same in May. Looks like you got some altitude in many of those shots. May I ask what type of aircraft you used and what your altitude was? Again, awesome awesome shots!

I like them all, but this is my fav:

Wow. Wow.
It's funny, we see so many incredibly shots of all sorts of cities from right around the world - but sometimes it takes a set like this to remind us just who is the reigning champion. NYC (and Flash :P), take a bow.

:skyscraper:
Start spreading the news
I'm leaving today
I want to be a part of it
New York, New York
:crazy2:
These vagabond shoes
Are longing to stray
Right through the very heart of it
New York, New York

I want to wake up in a city
That doesn't sleep
And find I'm king of the hill
Top of the heap

These little town blues
Are melting away
I'll make a brand new start of it
In old New York

If I can make it there
I'll make it anywhere
It's up to you
New York, New York

New York, New York

I want to wake up in a city
That never sleeps
And find I'm King a number one
Top of the list
King of the hill
And number one

These little town blues
Are melting away
I gonna make a brand new start of it
In old New York

And if I can make it there
I'm gonna make it anywhere
It's up to you
New York, New York
New York!!!!!!!!!

You took those from a commercial airline? LOL, I totally thought you took a helicopter :). Well I can say views like this are a definite reason NOT to take Acela between Boston & NYC. Nice Approach, the last time I flew into LAG we simply flew over the Sound and straight landed. I'd rather add to the flight 15 minutes for a tour like this.

Flash
Mar 25, 2007, 9:20 PM
I suppose air traffic controllers determined that we would take this approach to LGA, because it would seem to make more sense that coming from the north east, that you would just also land from the NE. The pilot came on early and mentioned we would be landing this way, so I determined I needed to switch sides of the plane (I abandoned my girlfriend in her row- hah). At the last minute it didn't seem we were coming in the way I thought (I even tried to confirm it with a flight attendant, but he wasn't totally sure), but we went right up the Hudson and curved around the tip of Manhattan going right over Brooklyn and landed pointing NE.

My stomach seriously hurt getting such a spectacular view of the city. The lady in my row must of thought I was nuts taking so many pictures.

There are two types of people in the world: those who think New York is the greatest city ever built by man and those who just escaped from a mental institution.
