I liked parts of Harrisburg, but it seemed like there were parts of downtown where there was nothing open past 3pm.

This looks like an interesting addition.

This is going in that part of town. There's actually quite an eclectic selection of shops and small restaurants nearby, but they all close between 3-5PM. What the area really needs is more residents. Hopefully with the addition of 1,600 students, assuming many will want to live very close by, housing will be developed and the neighborhood will have less of a "9 to 5" culture.

A few blocks away on 2nd street, most everything is open until midnight or later...I'd like to see all of downtown eventually go that away.

Since I don't live there anymore, I won't be able to see any of this firsthand so this is definitely the next best thing. Cool thread, thanks, danwxman!

Remember the new lofts in that renovate warehouse (?) are going in not too far away away. They are about 2 blocks east on Market Street just on the other side of the railroad tracks. Unlike most of Harrisburg there isn't really a lot of space to build in the neighborhood. There are several building near the site of the lofts that could be renovated. They look to still be structurally sound.

On another note. In the Harrisburg thread http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=43038&page=75 I promised some pics yesterday. Last night got a little crazy and I ran out of time before nightfall. I will attempt again tonight. If not I definately have time tomorrow evening after work. I plan on coming home over either the south bridge or Market St so I can get some pics of the the crane over the skyline. If I'm lucky both cranes working downtown will be visible in the same shot.

Look back soon!!

I've been updating the construction of this tower over on the City Compilations, Harrisburg thread at this link: http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showpost.php?p=3716537&postcount=2607.

Here is one of my recent photos, taken on August 2, 2008:

This is a great looking building and makes a fantastic addition to the City's skyline.
