Tristar...niiiiiiiiiiiiice. Last time I flew on one was ATL-DFW in the middle of summer. Sucker was sitting on the tarmac roasting it's butt off in the Georgia sun and when they unhooked the APU's and fired up the engines, the A/C vents started pumping out condensation fog like a KISS concert. Some people were startled enough to suggest the plane was "on fire". Sitting on an aisle in the back, I looked up the aisle as we started to lift off. I SWEAR I saw the plane lift in sections, as if the fuselage was articulated! :haha: Damn thing is a flying house.
As far as the new livery, I wish Delta would put it's money in other places, like keeping the INSIDES of the plane up to snuff.

Since Delta is a horrid airline anyway it matters not to me but I think they can do better rebranding...
Ciao, and Hook 'em Horns,

They should change their livery. Didn't like the old one and detest the current one. This one unfortunatly only looks marginally better.

Would have to see the whole plane, but from the tail it looks much more professional.
EDIT: Found more pictures.

The whole plane shot makes it much nicer. Very clean & professional looking.

That livery brings back memories of all the time spent at CVG in the early 1990s...

But not distinctive enough. There's no contrast on the tail fin so the design isn't instantly recognizable from a distance.

It seem so funny that these airlines in so-called bankruptcy have the nerve to spend money repainting their planes a different color sceme.
Continental, United, USAirways and Northwest did this also. United actually did it TWICE.
If they're so broke and crying poormouth, then where are they getting the money from to do this when they're supposed to be cutting back on expenses?
Oh yeah, that's right! They're getting it from the paycuts they're making the employees take.
Yes OD, that color is UUUUUUGLYYYYYY!
Some things you just can't change and are better off left alone. This is one of them.

I like it BUT....
...this screams of US AIrways to me. Though the takeover/purchase isn't going to happen.

Daquan, close. America West bought U.S. Airways, and had to paint their planes anyway. Besides, it was their dime.

The planes will be repainted after they go for heavy maintence work. They have to be stripped of paint ANYWAY so there is no extra cost to paint them. Seeing as how there are still planes left in the Ron Allen scheme I would be willing to bet they will be the first repainted. They arent going to pull 600 plus aircraft offline just to paint in the new scheme. It will take several years.

The old widget from the 90's is by far my favorite airline livery of all time. They are trying to bring it back a little with the new paint but Delta just can't get it right anymore...:(

This is actually a little model plane.

It's alright, but not very distinctive. The one they have now could be for any airline though.

I thought it was the other way around. That USAirways bought America West after they came out of bankruptcy.

The Tristar has as much chance coming back as the dodo bird.
Costs as much to operate one of those as a couple of 767's and probably 3 757's.

Nope, AWA bought US Air before it emerged from bankruptcy. (http://weblogs.jupiterresearch.com/analysts/clarkson/archives/2005/05/us_airwaysameri.html)

Well, before you go off slamming other airlines, get your facts straight.
-Airplanes are not all painted at once.
-When airplanes recieve required heavy maintanence checks, they are stripped entirely of paint, to better check problems, and heavily increase safety.
-Repainting aircraft, unless it's an incredibly wild and costlier paint scheme, (which, in this case, it isn't) does NOT cost extra money.
I wouldn'tve cared less had you had a better attitude on it, but you're trying to make a completely uneducated slam.

excactly it has the same cost to paint one aircraft in a livery or in other
