Hi All,
We're heading over to San Diego in early June. Looking to stay downtown in walking distance of everything and wanted to see if anyone had hotels they might recommend. And of course, what places we can see via foot or train.
Thanks in advance!

^you pretty much covered it all...but dont forget to maybe check out the beach neighborhoods too such as Pacific Beach and Ocean Beach...lots of clubs and unique shops there (unfortunately, these areas arent accesible by foot or train...but you could take a bus...)

you might want to check out Tijuana too if you want...you can take the trolley all the way down to the border and its only a short walk across the border from there

Some of the things that stood out to me most on my trip last year were the zoo and animal park (every bit deserving of their great reputation), Old Town (not huge, but the distinctive "old California" feel of the place reminded me a bit of the Stockyards in Ft. Worth,TX), and Little Italy (great food + nice-looking chicks = my kind of place).
That funky outdoor mall thing downtown was a trip, too.
