Most important drainage Sewage System in Munich North

4 decayed containers (diameter 32 m) have a whole height of 45 m from what will lie in the final state about 31.50 m about area level.

In the northern outskirts of Munich originates a new decayed container arrangement of the sewage work Munich 1 with the accompanying factory which will have lain in the final state almost completely underground. The new building is connected about a, about 155 m long installation canal likewise belonging to the building project to the sewage work continuance.

- What exactly are these used for? The treatment of sewage?

- I believe that the 45 meters includes the total height including underground levels. The 31.5 meters is the height above ground not including the underground levels:

"31,50 m über Geländeniveau liegen"

These towers are used to decant the lamm of sewage and reusing clean water. The rest is transformed in gas to be used as bio-gas or just burned. A decayed container is a container for the controlled and steered realisation of anaerobic dismantling processes (Like Cracking in Oil Refineries) in the sewage treatment. Beside decayed containers decayed ponds and Emscherbrunnen are also used for such purposes. Decayed containers are to be found as a rule in sewage arrangements. In the sapropel gases free themselves like methane (CH4) which must be caught because of his strong hothouse potential. Further the besides originating decayed gases let themselves to the production of electric energy

You are right the tower is 31.5 m higher the street level but as the cointainer part goes underground together canals makes 45m in total.

I take a highway everyday side by side this complex and comparing to the Wind Power plant with 66 m high in rotor seems not that difference between both. So for me 45 m makes more sense when I see and compare everyday.

The translation to English from the name is something like that
