Take it for what it is worth, but according to the new sequencing diagram they have released, the building will be topped out June 2010, with type 1/4 curtain wall at level 36. Everything completed by June 2011.
December 09, building will be at level 36, type 1/4 curtain wall at 12. Diagrid at level 18.

Keep up the good updates!

The boom is still missing from the east FAVCO - it is lying on the ground on the south side of the building. No doubt this will slow construction until it is re-installed.
Also there is lots of glass stacked up in crates on the third floor of the building.

why they removing it?
We're not 100% sure right now.
We have heard it was either for:
-routine maintenance (the crane has been up almost 1 year)
-bent arm
It is odd that if it was routine maintenance they would choose the middle of the week to do it, versus the weekend.

is weird but it must be prity big does not look like thers anyproblems with the boom its self but could be wrong but i am guesing maybe they found some braying on one of the cables? or the hoist its self is not working right so to fix it they took the boom off so it does not risk falling?

Yeah, not much has gone up, it's been very slow. But it has been progressing slowly. And other areas have caught up.
Plus, it's hard to erect steel with the one crane that didn't have a luffing arm for a few days. And the other cranes were tied up for parts of two days taking down that arm and then putting it back up.
Wind like we are having today probably slows down their work too, if not completely shutting it down.

I thought about this for a while, and I think I've got it figured out. They are pouring concrete toppings on the floors, and it's getting colder.
The White tarps are to help enclose the space so that they can heat the space so that the concrete doesn't freeze.

Makes sense.
Went by today and it looks like they finally have the mounting steel in place to install the next level of dia-grid. Also more glass on the mechanical section of the spine was installed.
It has been a slow couple of weeks... Hurry up and get things going! :D

We're not sure of exact heights, but EAP is pouring the 26th floor, so it is probably higher, at least the concrete core of it. The Bow is higher as far as the steel goes, but EAP is moving upward at a faster rate.

will the sectioned tarps eventually move up with the structure? or will the tarps ride up the whole structure until it tops off?
The tarps will probably be removed in the spring if it's being used for climate control. However if its being used to control debris getting blown off it will ride above the glazing installation until completion.

Welding of the joints is probobly done. I don't think we'll see too much of that glazing go up until they can take the heavy duty scaffolding down, the stuff that's holding up the extended floors. But perhaps I'm wrong.

Am I the only one who has noticed that Calgary and Edmonton are both building their tallest towers simultaneously?
And the race is on!
I'm not a betting man, but if I were.....
Calgary 236m 58 Floors .Edmonton 149m 28 Floors. pretty lopsided race

If both buildings started construction at the same time you'd be right.....but they didn't. The Bow is about twice as far ahead as Epcor which means both buildings should top out at about the same time. :fingerscrossed:
And you know what I think of that?

I walked by the bow today, and they almost have the 3rd tier of glazing! I must say it looks pretty good only 3 stories high... I cant wait till it spans the whole building!
