I can't wait for the clear atrium glazing, that's going to look absolutely sick! Too bad the tree pods were taken out and the atrium was shrunk to add more floor space (which also slowed down construction by about 2 months).

When did that happen? Sucks to hear that, even though I guess most of us wouldn't get a chance to see it in person.

Roughly 2 million, including what was added with the extended floorplates.

I have heard the figure of 1.85 million sq ft. Not sure if that was before the changes or not.

Surrealplaces
Apr 27, 2010, 6:53 PM
I don't have any official numbers, but one of the reasons for the varying numbers is because one figure refers to the amount of 'office' space, while other figures refer to 'total' space. My Bow calendar at home might have the exact numbers, but iirc, it is just under 1.9 million square feet of office space, and just over 2 million for the building in total.

Habanero
Apr 29, 2010, 1:55 AM

I think the tower is 1.7 million and the cultural part across the street is 300 000 for a grand total of 2 million.

From H&R REIT:
The Bow, Calgary, Alberta
The 1.9m square foot state-of-the-art office tower will be the tallest office building in Western Canada. The project to be built in Calgary's downtown core will cost approximately $1.1 billion and is expected to be completed in 2011. The office tower and 700 parking bays will be leased to EnCana Corporation for 25 years with annual rental escalations. There is an additional 200,000 square feet of retail and cultural space to be built on the adjoining lands.

http://www.hr-reit.com/images/Bow/Bow2.jpg
Also, the underground infrastructure I believe works out to approximately just under 1 million sq feet as well.

Cowtown_Tim
Apr 29, 2010, 8:14 PM
^That makes sense. Probably was 1.7 million, and that late addition of space makes it 1.9 million.

Nice shot! Kind of an empty area right in middle... Would Imperial Oil or Herald square fill that up, if built?I think from that perspective, Imperial Oil would line up just to the right of, and behind the Calgary Tower, and Herald Square would be be slightly to the right and in front of Imperial Oil, and behind the Calgary Tower as well. So it would fill it up a bit.
