The girth of the Bow used to bug me a bit, but now that it's going up, I'm actually liking it more and more. This building is so unique, in the way it's slim from some angles and wide in other angles. Looking at it close-up from the southwest, it has a real 'monolithic feel', an almost overwhelming feel to it. Looking at it from the northwest or southeast it has such a tall slender look. I love this building.

Love the contrast the Bow brings to the DT skyline. It's a nice, modern counterpoint to all the bland concrete. Surreal's shot with the Telus building in front really shows it well. Looks like it belongs in a metropolis. I'm getting stoked to see the diagrid go all the way to the top.
P.S. the exposed staircase of the spine looks like a giant zipper.

On that closeup photo of Deepstar's you can see the first number of the floor count, especially where it goes from 39 to 40... using that I only counted 50 floors to the top beam 45 completely finished. So 8 more, 10 with the 2 double floors would make more sense as to where it's at against SEC, and how much taller that amount of floors would take it past Suncor.

This is unfortunately a once in a blue moon type building and will do nothing to sway the investment trusts and pension funds to consider more than just the bottom line. There aren't too many Encanas left in Canada either willing to delve into real estate in order to build a signature tower.

All the metal is probably isolated pretty well from the ground. Shouldn't be a problem.
A lightning strike could weld all of the metal joints together, saving the workers a bunch of work!

Not quite that high. Just one more block of six floors (in size, there won't be six actual floors) above the current top of the columns. Where the boom meets appears to be about 9 floors above the top of the column, to me.
Yes you're absolutely right YNAT... here's what a came up with using a ruler to measure the 3 floor beams at the top and adding another 6.
