Gap llegó a México de la mano de Liverpool, aquí en la ciudad de México se vende en Insurgentes, Polanco, Satélite, Perisur y Santa Fe, pero qué bueno que hayan elegido a Paseo Morelia para iniciar su incursión a título propio.

YO HE POSTEADO informacion basada en "realidades" y ESTO SIRVIO PARA SER BANNEADO En el foro de "nefastos", Por ahi habla de que mencione de 2 palacios de hierro en Morelia, esta infomacion o rumor es y se da como en muchas otras cds y si seran 2: una tienda y un restaurant; otros foristan de por ahi, hablaron de un mega centro comercial en San luis potosi y que seria el mejor de nuestro pais y que, no ha pasado nada, ni renders hay no paso nada??, se hablo de que AGS tendria el 2° centro comercial mas grande de mexico (mentira total) y que no fue ni sera asi, se hablo que Monterrey contaria con el edifio mas alto y que no ha pasado nada fui el primero en hablar de:

plaza las americas esta en plena construcion y abrira en otc de este año
ciudad tres marias es unos de los complejos mas imortantes del pais

lo k falto en ese foro fue tolerancia y un debate sano y sin agresion
tbm falto el respeto....
asi komo los chismes y supocisiones en las k se basaron los moderadores
pero este es un foro aparte en el k e visto mucha tolerancia y epero k asi siga.

La diferencia entre este foro y SCC es que aqui hay mejor calidad de threads, de foristas, de moderadores que si hacen bien su trabajo y no castigan cuando alguien evidencia una carencia de su propio trabajo.. Además aqui hay más respeto y credibilidad.

Ojala no se convierta en un thread tipo scc donde ademas de puros clones y trolls protegidos y escudados, hay muchas cosas que ni son ni seran ciertas.

Morelia, Mexico (NCS) - In a small, colonial city nestled in the mountains about 375 kilometers outside of Mexico City, a new mixed-use complex is being constructed on the top of a steep cliff that, up until recently, was considered almost un-buildable.

Paseo Morelia Mall, now under construction in the Desarrollo Monarca area of Morelia, Mexico, in the state of Michoacan, is part of a 500 hectare master plan developed by Gicsa and designed by the Chicago office of RTKL.

The complex contains approximately 88,494 square meters of commercial space including three anchor stores, multiple sub-anchors, and a family entertainment center that incorporates a food court and outdoor dining as well an arcade and cinemas. The development also includes a church that earned the architect an AIA design award. Eventually a hotel that is currently in conceptual design stages will be featured as well.

The mall will include upscale department stores, supermarkets, home appliance stores, as well as boutiques selling widely known brands. The cinema portion will contain 14 stadium-type theaters.

“With its arcades, colors, vegetation and open areas, Paseo Morelia will be much more than a shopping center. It will be a regional community center for the whole family and a meeting place for friends with a different atmosphere, full of energy and excitement,” according to the developer.

Lance Josal, RTKL principal of the project, describes Morelia as a beautiful city with a pleasant climate. “It’s high enough for a cool breeze, but it is temperate [weather]. It never gets too cold or too hot,” he said, describing a city made up of civic plazas and courtyards.

The historic downtown area of Morelia, Centro Historico, contains over 1,000 historical buildings and sites, many of the baroque architectural style. Some well known buildings include the baroque cathedral, finished in 1744, the convent of San Francisco, built in 1513, the convent of San Agustin, founded in 1550, the college and temple of La Compañia de Jesus, started in 1580 and known as Palacio Clavijero, the convent of El Carmen, constructed in 1597, the convent of Santa Catarina that dates from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.

According to Josal, the mild, comfortable climate and the beauty of the city “built from soft limestone that’s a pinkish or reddish tone,” made it a shame for the top of this plateau to be undeveloped and unseen by the majority of the community, predominantly made up of families of migrant workers, Josal explained.

While some affluent homes had been built along the edge of the mountain ridge and a polytechnic institute is also adjacent to the property, there was not any development atop the crest that lured residents who did not live or go to school there. After a road was built to the top, the city decided to explore new development options.

“It was time that the city of Morelia started to look at developing the top of this plateau, not just for the commercial success but to capitalize on the value, to draw people up from the valley,” said Josal. “This project catalyzes that and adds more uses. It puts commercial emphasis on the plateau.”

Josal describes the church as a small chapel, and says it is “very simple. It’s almost a stark sort of architecture in contrast to the rest of the retail. It is designed very cleverly.”

The design of the church is a spatial exploration of the effects of natural and artificial light in the material palette of the region: limestone, cantera rock and widely used textured stucco. Three tiers of light sources at different elevations work to mold the spaces. Finished in a rough stucco, the altar wall is washed by lateral sources of natural light that defines a subtle cross shape. With the way the light and shadows play off of the concrete, Josal explained, “it looks like the concrete panels are folded.”
