Here's a photo I took on a vacation in Nov 2006. This is taken from the Foothills Parkway in Cocke Co. TN. The mountain in the distance is Mt. Guyot at 6,621ft, located at the corner of Cocke and Sevier County, TN. The valley is approximately 800ft in elevation for reference, so the relief of the mountain from base to tip is 5,800ft.

Here is a shot that isn't downsized as much, with the contrasts still where the mountain is hardly visible. The mountain looked far more frosted with snow in real life.

Reminds me of hiking on top of that thing on an AT trek many years ago.
