Interesting Facts/Records (in own words):

The mast was built in 1964 at Messkirch and formed with three other masts of same type a directional antenna for medimwave. In the Mid 1970ies, it was dismantled as on its site a 240 metres tall mast radiator was built.

In 1981, it was rebuilt at Trebur and is now used as mast for FM-broadcasting.

An other interesting fact, is that the mast is property of SWR ( before 1998) of SWF).
This public broadcasting company has the duty to supply Baden-W├╝rttember and Rhineland-Palatina with radio programmes.
The public broadcasting company responsible for Hess is the HR.
It is not common, that a public broadcasting company builds a transmission site in a state, for which it has not the duty to deliver radio programmes!

The mast is often incorrectly called "Nierstein Radio Mast" ( Sendemast Nierstein), as it should deliver this area with radio programmes, but Nierstein is on the other site of Rhine River.
