Note: Mainz-Kastel is since 1945 not a part of Mainz any more. In 1945 when Germany was divided in sectors by alliied troups, Rhine River was declared as frontier between French sector ( West of Rhine) and US sector (East of Rhine). Thereby boundaries of cities were not considered.

Mainz-Kastel belongs since then as all former parts of Mainz east of Rhine River to Hesse and is a part of Wiesbaden. For traditional reasons, the name Mainz-Kastel was kept.
