This may sound like a stupid question....but assuming that a skyscraper is properly constructed, how long can it last. I would assume that over time, it would begin to sink (however gradually), and rivets and bolts would come weakened under its massive weight....

depends on how well it is maintained, I see no reason why a skyscraper can't last 2-300 years or maybe more.
