Hope you had fun. I was there on Saturday for the Spain game and the stadium wasn't even close to being that full. We just walked down and got ourselves better seats.

Cool pics. I like how you say 'rich people' when they are some of the cheapest tickets ever. lol

^their tickets were $30...ours $15.90...=rich.

but our 14.10 savings = 3 beer.

Surprisingly enough... I find that the added effect is similar to the "glow effect" you often see in newer video games.

Did the Edmonton news writers report the attendance as disappointing? I've been watching some of the action down here in the Caribbean and (no offense to Edmonton) have been surprised by the low turnouts there. Ottawa looked like a complete sell out in comparison.

The crowds in Edmonton and Ottawa were very similar (25-30 thousand). The difference is that our stadium has 60,000 seats and the one in Ottawa has about 30,000.

The attendance figures overall were very good considering this is U-20 action we're talking about. (...and the dissapointing performance of the home team)

Visually, of course, the Edmonton matches looked sparcely attended. This could have been avoided if organizers had restricted access to various sections of the stadium and made things look a little more intimate.

Yes it looks that way, but Edmonton had more attendance than Ottawa. Ottawa capacity is 26K while Commonwealth is 60K. So 25K in Frank Clair would give the impression of more sales than 30K in Commonwealth. In Toronto they capacity was 20K, in Vancouver and Victoria capacity was only 10K and 14K respectively. Edmonton and Montreal were the only large stadiums. The difference is Montreal has 3 1/2 times the population of Edmonton and look at who played in Montreal. The other thing that helped ticket sales was the teams playing in the group stages. Edmonton had Congo, Austria, Chile, and Canada in the groups with Canada being such a disapointment that they did not score a single goal. Montreal had the US and Brazil which would be significantly better for ticket sales to a soccer crowd in Canada.
