Interesting Facts/Records (in own words): Observation tower built of lattice steel built in 1906 on initiative of Oscar Wolff, a factory owner
at Stadtoldendorf. Tower is therefore nicknamed "Eiserner Oskar" ( Oscar of Iron). Tower was built by Sieg-Rheinische-Hütten AG

In 1934, it was renovated and in 1942, it was planned to demolish it, but this was not done as result of war.
Tower was closed for visitors between 1976 and 1983. In 1983, it was renovated again.
Tower is closed since 2005 for visitors. Renovation is planned.
