I like the new one, but I have my usual suggestion. The vetical lines aren't really 2m apart and the lines 1m, are they? All that needs to be done is to blend them into the facade better. Glass buildings are usually best done in 2:1. I mean, you're going to get a blur, but it looks much more realistic. Your can even do this in 1:1 and then just shrink it down by a few pixels.

Hi Buck, can I make some suggestions?

I would say that your Transam. Pyramid is too wide and the top is not high enough in compartisation to the rest of the building.

And the rooftop of the Park Tower is too wide, look here:

Buck

You're Right, Thanks! :) I noticed that about my Transamerica the other day and I am going to fix it today. I will fix both now.

Hi again,

your Park Tower is now in the primary.

But about the Transam. Pyramid my last reply was a bit too fast. It is still some meters too wide in my opinion. And also the braces at the ground level could be more massiv. The top is very good, also the color. If you could change these things, than it would also be a primary drawing. :D

Buck
Dec 31, 2003, 1:00 AM
Okay, I'll work on it a little more. I appreciate your critiquing. I really want this one to make the primary. I'm very proud of it. :)

OK, I don't know a whole lot about this building, and I know it's been a super-controversial one in the past, so I'm hesitant to approve this with my limited knowledge.

So I'll leave it for someone else.

However, in my own personal opinion, that is flat-out excellent. Absolutely beautiful rendering of the glass. I'm very impressed, Buck.

Oh yes that's definitely one of your best drawings! I think it was nearly perfect if the glass wasn't that bluish - with reduced saturation it will look even better.

Buck
Feb 6, 2004, 6:23 PM
Thanks guys! Jai-C, I played around with the saturation a bit and settled on that one. Some days though, it actually is that blue. It all depends on the sky, really.

I've always wanted to redraw my version of the Westin Peachtree, but could never find any good photos of the base/

Anyway, excellent job, Buck! It really is one of your best. I really like these circular towers seeing as how I drew this one, the RenCen, and the Adams Mark in Memphis.

These are all great drawings you're doing here. If I could make one tiny suggestion though...the second Chinese character looks kind of like you've cut it in two...its left side is too far away from the rest of it. Move it over a bit to the right and it's pretty much perfect.

One other thing I just noticed was that on the second-tallest set of tubes (the ones that go up to ~92nd floor), only the outermost-facing facades have the black panelling on them. The south tube only has the black panelling on the southern facade and the east tube's is on the eastern facade. The other facades of those tubes are just glass and the extremely narrow bracing all the way to the top. Otherwise, good job.:)

Also new for today, I have decided that I am going to work on drawing new diagrams to replace some of my old & awful diagrams. So for a while, I will probably be doing that more than I will be drawing new buildings. At least, thats what I plan on doing.

I am starting with...

Wells Fargo Center, Denver CO:

http://skyscraperpage.com/cities/?buildingID=137&drawingID=22546

It is replacing this monstrosity:

James Raymond
Feb 13, 2004, 6:05 PM
Pretty good, but way too pink! Also, the crown needs a little help. The top of the northern curve isn't directly across from the bottom of the southern curve. I see someone noticed the trademark antenna, too!:D

Buck
