This is a rip-off of a risk test some Ohio cops developed in the 80's

My score is -3
"wonton lifestyle" :) Do you suffer from a wonton lifestyle??? Seriously, we don't use that word often enough. It's fun.
I got a 20. Probably cuz I's po'. It doesn't even take into account the crime rate in the neighbourhood in which you live. Two of the last 10 murders in this city happened within 1km of my apartment.

5 here. But in Canada, it's pretty straightforward.
If you aren't involved in gangs, or in the drug trade, or are a prostitute, or live on the street, your homicide risk is cut in half. If you don't go to allnight parties in "sketchier" parts of town (and this one varies by city in terms of how common it is, but certainly most of MB and SK), your risk is cut again.
Basically, unless you participate in a few high-risk lifestyle choices, your odds of being mudered are practically non-existent. Out of the between 10 and 50 murders the big Canadian cities see every year, on average I've heard about one where I can't immediately say "that'll never happen to me". It might have when I was young and foolish though (see: boozecans). ;)
So I've always put my risk of being murdered at about 1 in 1,000,000. Well, I also avoid pissing off the S.O. :haha:

I'm pretty sure they meant 'wanton'. Wonton is a Chinese food.

^ perhaps it is a reference to the Asian gang problem.
Anyhow, I got 44. Apparently having 1-2 drinks means you 'are drinking too much'. This test must have been designed by the temperence movement in 1914.

Or if you live in Calgary and ride public transit these days, your chances are doubled! ;)

23 for me. I think it's the number of siblings I have and the lack of an alarm in my house.

why would having lots of adult siblings so affect your score? I was at 24 and changed siblings from 4+ to 0 and my score went down to 16!

People are more likely to be killed by their family members.
From what I could tell this "test" is merely a collation of "you're 2% more likely to be killed after 9pm" type of statistics.

Yes, I misspelled it. :frog:

-2, but it says I should move out of the big city, and stop drinking so much in public :( (Only 3 drinks on an average night out!)

I got a 7. I can't imagine any reasons why someone would have less risk of being murdered than me.
For fun, I tried to answer to score as high as I could, I scored 430.

Just being a corporate executive raises your score by 15 - maybe not as desirable of a career aspiration as you'd think.

I got a whopping 16. The question is what are the chances of me doing the murdering?

i got 18. like WTF is the point of this anyways? hate to say it, but most people who get murdered put themselves in that situation. tragically though, even though the population is controling itself at that point, there still are innocent bystandards that get killed.

Basically. In Calgary, all you have to do is stay away from a very few problem areas at night(the area around the drop in centre, and parts of Forest Lawn), and be aware of your surroundings.
I refuse to live in fear. If I'm following the common sense procedures above and I get murdered, it was just my time to go. Plain and simple.
I scored an 8.
