Thanks to all, pretty soon I will add my penis looking monorail to the city. But I have to make the rail first. It's going to be a pretty weird looking rail.
Will you put pubic hair around the station entries ? :haha:
Aleks

Ha No. :haha:
I'll show the monorail in an hour or so I'm working on the tracks. They will loop the city.

OH MY GOSH!!! I'm having so much trouble with the monorail!!! I got 1 curve and I still have to do 3 more+the stations.
Anyways here's a little preview of the monorail tracks. The monorail car will be shown in the next update.

The Ritz is now at 580 feet tall, well over half of it's over all height.
The blue tower shown here is the Four Seasons La Corte. The building is expected to have the tallest or one of the tallest atriums in the world. The final height has not been released. Two cores are in the building, one is inside on the South side of the tower and the other is partially sticking out in the North end allowing passengers to view the city while going up.
http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k235/Aleks0o01/Fantasy%20City%202/76.25.png
The unpainted building behind is the Mary Sunshine Building, it's only offices in this building.

YES!!! I hate that thing. I wanted it to make the front/back less rounder and more like a bullet train but the damn thing was too hard!! I made the train extra long because unlike most (or all) monorails which only use one track this one uses two. The extra length makes up for the second train.

La Corte Times
Reporter:Mr. Domo Arigato Mr. Roboto
All great cities start from scratch. This is not the case of La Corte, fancy hotels, some of the best hotel chains, and luxury are the main factors of this city. The government worries that all these riches will drive the middle income people away from the city. Today the Mexican government announced it will use 1.5 billions dollars to create affordable living in and around the city. This will insure that the city grows, gets economic income, and that the money stays in La Corte. Without people willing to do cleaning, sewer inspections, plumbing etc, the rich will want to leave the city. For now at least 4 affordable residential buildings are planned in this city of riches so pack your stuff and fly to a Corte.

I love criticizing, but I thought it offended some people, so I cut back on doing it as often.
So is the building completely done? I don't like how the top just cuts off and is white. You should add something appealing at the top. The plain white bottom could use some detailing as well. I see you have doors there, but no windows.
I would also change the color of that water, unless you're going for a polluted look, which would actually be realstic.

I do wanna change the color of the water but all the construction is dumping dirt into the water so yeah... Maybe I'll add something it will be kinda hard though because of the shape but I'll try. I wanted to add the Ritz Carlton Logo at the top. Man if I could use Kerk. I would make lights, night day, and the Ritz logo at the top would glow!

Sep 1, 2007, 6:59 PM
Honestly, I'd make another Trump Tower. Trump is luxury, and not that I'm downing your design, but its looks like a 60's office tower as oppose to a luxury highrise.
Thats my opinion.
Aleks
Sep 1, 2007, 7:12 PM
Good, I like being critized, the building is supposed to look like a 60's building but with a more modern design. In this case the building doesn't go straight up all 4 sides but at 750-775 the building has a gap in between two sections of the tower. If I could use Kerk. It would awesome but I cant. I thought it was a little too bland but then I remembered about the Tump World Tower in N.Y.
Dac150
Sep 1, 2007, 7:18 PM
I'm a big fan of the Trump World Tower. Personally I feel it's the best building built in this decade, so why not color the Trump Building in Black, and put "TRUMP" in gold letters on top of the building.
Aleks
Sep 1, 2007, 7:27 PM
I know it's O.K. designers and architects disagree all the time so it's natural. I thought about writing TRUMP in gold at the top but the realized that since it's a luxury tower people wont buy a condo next to a Huge glowing sign. Maybe I'll darken the glass but not completely. I want people to be able to see where floors start/end when I disable lines.
Patrick
Sep 1, 2007, 10:54 PM
Awsome job on the Dream Tower!
Peter
Sep 2, 2007, 6:39 AM
Yes, the Main Towers would be considered deco. obviously not something out of the 20s or 30s, but still deco nonetheless.
just understand that architectural styles aren't either this way or that way. it's all really more abstract that that, some being categorized under more than one style for example.
the gardens inside the sony towers are cool.
keep it up :)

From La Corte Times
Height Limit Rules will go in affect this week which will create a safer environment and provide privacy. The Fountain District (island between the Aqua Marina) will not allow towers over 1000 feet on the first block's surrounding the island. Buildings over 1000 feet to 1600 will be allowed in the remaining inner blocks

I like the proportions on AVA , puts a new twist on the twist

Thanks, the point was to add views while keeping the building simple and to not make the typical square twisting tower. It fits in perfectly in the zone because of the Freedom Square and La Corte City Hall are on the sides so they block off views. I also like the color =].

I have had a design for a tower on a piece of paper for months now, and I finally got it right in Sketchup. The problem is that the tower was inspired by a plant growing, representing life, it was going to be green and called Life at La Corte. Then I realized that the tower also looked like a fountain! If I decide to make it look like a fountain it will be blue instead of green and be called Fountain Place instead of Life at La Corte. So what should I do? I like both ideas but only one can be made.

The only way I can make both towers is if I make two twin towers, but I don't know if it would look good. One green, one blue.
Please peeps I need help choosing one of those 3 options!!

I know one thing for sure , that its damn cool
I don't think 2 would look good
How bout green and blue ?
But remember the saying "blue and green should not be seen unless there's something in between" :D

Lol, it's so confusing and indecisive. I don't think I would like green and blue combined. I'll wait and see what more people choose.
What happened to your avatar Mo? I can't see it.

All of those update went under my radar. All the new buildings are fantastic. I would go for Fountain Place.

Yeah, I thought the Sheraton looked out of place. Well every city needs an out-of-place building and La Cortes is the Sheraton!
K I'll make it Fountain Place. Sorry Austin but Fountain Plaza sounds unfit for this building + there's going to be a mall under the tower.

Ok. Since school started I will still construct my towers but faster. I'll will probably finish towers over 1000 ft. in 3-4 updates because I won't have much time to update. This also insures that the thread keeps alive!
p.s. I forgot to ask this but does anybody know where I got the inspiration for Freedom Square (blue tower next to AVA)?

It looks familiar ,but i dunno the names :dunno:
Aleks
Sep 17, 2007, 6:03 AM
Well I think I gave the inspiration source with the name. Let's see, the tower is blue, has a crown at the top, and the name is Liberty Square. I think all those clues lead up to one thing.....The Statue of Liberty!!
I don't know if anybody noticed but that's where the inspiration came from.

Lol, I post too manu comments on my thread. Oh well, even if I don't get many replies I know many people look at it so it's just fine with me. Anyways, I'll post an update tomorrow.
Man is this update gonna be good. I will release the master plan for the island which La Corte stands on. It will have an extinct volcano on the South side of the island and will include 3 cities.
They are:
1. La Corte
2. Grand point of the West (still thinking about a name, please help, I want a name with a tropical feeling but not like Miami).
3. Unknown Name (what I said on #2).
The trading ports will be huge.
1. Le Grand Port
2. ? International Airport.
Of course I haven't forgotten about sports.
Olympiad! The chosen site for the 2012 Olympics!
I will also post new towers/Under Cons.
Wow, I write a lot. Anyways right here it's 9:29 p.m. So PEACE.

wow do you do all the floors
Aleks
Sep 19, 2007, 12:18 AM
Yeah I do all my floors. It's easy if you know how to do it. Just use the intercept tool and a whole bunch of boxes stacked on top of each other. If anybody wants to learn how to do it just ask and I'll show them how.
