Some of you know I have done some UER stuff, while here is my latest, with narration.

As I entered the building at 12PM there was nothing but black, I had a mini mag-lite and my camera, and tripod, thats it. As i climbed the first two sets of stairs I found myself in one of the grand ballrooms, from there I found my way to the main stairs that would take me to the top. As I walked around it was clear that this place had been used by the homeless and those who needed a place to party, some form of urban bushparty. As I made my way to the top, I came upon a grand ballroom that sat atop of the building overlooking the city. Here are the pics from ballroom and roof.

That's the Royal Connaught Hotel, a grand hotel built in 1916. Howard Johnson operated it as "The Royal Connaught Howard Johnson Plaza Hotel" for the last year or so before it closed around 2004. It's supposed to be renovated into a Marriott Renaissance, but the renovations have stalled lately. Too bad, it's a great building.
