I missed a stellar shot of Century City basking in the sunset down Coldwater Canyon. Dead battery. :koko:

Lots of haze in the LA Basin, but the Valley looks clear. Quite the opposite since the Valley is usually even more smoggy. When did you take these pictures?

I took some of the same shots on Friday afternoon, but I was over at the Observatory. Later in the afternoon the haze clear up quite a bit, but I like to go back in about a month when we have less smog floating around.

I like the NBC building, fits perfect in that area!

Sunday afternoon. If it rains this weekend like it's supposed to, should be amazing picture taking weather next week!

Sunday, I didn't realize it was so hazy. But again I was working and didn't see the sunlight until 2:30 pm, and of course I also work in Redondo Beach where smog is a rare thing. Next week would be good, but bad for me since I'm heading out to London & Paris for a much needed vacation. Well if you get down this way after the rain, I hope you get some nice ones.

Weird thing is, the smog never seems to bother me when I'm down there.

Great shots Mike.

^Because it has become an integral part of the urban landscape that we associate with Los Angeles. Images of a hazy LA Basin are well ingrained in our minds.

I plan on visiting the Observatory this Saturday after the storm to take lots of pictures of what will be a clear and beautiful day in LA.

Beautiful shots. We usually stay in Universal city, it was great to see it from the air.

They keep saying its supposed to rain today and tomorrow, so why the hell is it sunny and 70 degrees outside right now!?

Kick ass on the Tom Petty reference.

Kick ass-er on the pictures!

Hooray for bad grammar.

Great pictures! I'd rather have the cool hazy marine layer days than the sweltering hot but clear days. By the way, what happened to our rain? It would be nice if we could get some before all the native vegetation in the hills dies and/or burns up.

Its still sunny and 70 degrees in Orange County. Dammit, where's the f*#king rain!? :hell:

That aside, how many British tourists did you have to fight for a primo spot to set up your camera and/or tripod to get those downtown skyline shots, Plinko? ;)

Raining in Santa Barbara right now. Finally! Still, hope it doesn't rain tomorrow. Sitting in the stands at the Big A will suck.

I screamed at them that I had just seen Britney Spears running naked down the street. They flocked away!

Hopefully by the time you catch the game, the Halos will have already clenched the AL West. Forecast is calling for the weather to at least clear up by tomorrow afternoon.

Still, as of this post (4pm) it is sunny and clear in northeastern Orange County.

I'd rather have them lose tonight so they can clinch tomorrow. It'll be much more fun to watch.

Last time I was at the Big A? 1987...to watch the Rams stomp the Falcons!!!

I don't think anyone under the age of 20 knows that it was (or still is called) "The Big A"

Then again, the only pro football fans we have in Orange County anymore are either a) fairweather Charger fans or b) Raiderfan. Don't be surprised if half the people at the stadium are wearing USC's maroon and gold.

Looks like Halos fans will have to wait until Sunday. They're trailing 0-5 after seven innings tonight, and Bartolo Colon's rumored to be the starting pitcher tomorrow.

Oh my God, it's raining in SoCal! Everybody drive as fast as you can... 50 car pileup! Bring in the helicoptors! Sorry, the Mariners are rolling "The Big A", at least, for one last night. Great pix of my favorite place to be in an amazing megalopolis.

Yep them parched hills finally got some decent rain so maybe they'll turn green since they never did last winter.

Now if this were part of Central/South America they'd have high rises along Mulholland Drive, with eye-popping views from their high rise balconies!

But given how restrictive it is to put up a high rise, along Sunset Blvd, I know, I know! You don't have to tell me!;)
