I'm a sucker for restaurants with good views and I'm wondering where there are restaurants on the tops of buildings or at least a few storeys above the streets.
I can think of:
Vancouver Lookout
Empire Landmark Hotel
...and that's about it. Any others, maybe in other parts of the metro?

There's an Irish pub in the place of what used to be Skybar (at, I believe, Nelson and Seymour or thereabouts). Interesting perspective of the neighbourhood from its vantagepoint.

Anything out in the burbs, like Richmond et al? It'd be sort of cool to see Van's skyline from a rooftop restaurant outside of Vancouver.

Well, the restaurant at the top of Grouse Mountain would be an obvious first pick. And the restaurant/club at Lonsdale Quay in North Van, called Tantra, has probably the best view of the downtown skyline.

The Salmon House has an amazing view of downtown, if you can time your meal to when the sun starts setting it's awesome.

Holt Renfrew Cafe is not open yet, but it will be a rooftop restaurant (a very chic urban type restaurant at that) when it opens. I imagine it will have an interesting view of streetlife when it does open.
Apparently it was supposed to be open by now but the store had a 'falling out' with the celebrity chef that was supposed to head it. I'm not sure where it's at now...

I think it's called Seasons at QE Park at least used to have a city view, I'm not sure with the tree growth however.
This is a rooftop/skyline view thread but if you open it up to restaurants with nice views in general, there are tonnes of them.

Horizon's at Burnaby Mountain Park.
I've never been, but I've heard good things.

I think there's a Buddhist Temple cafeteria in the Radisson across from Aberdeen Centre in Richmond. I haven't been there, but you won't be able to see downtown from there, anyway. I suspect its view (if it has one) is similar to Aberdeen Centre's food court - a decent view of planes coming in.
Metrotown Hilton has a restaurant 3-4 floors up, but I believe it only looks east. There's a bunch of other 2nd floor restaurants around Metrotown too, but I don't know if any have much of a view, which seems like a missed opportunity since you can get some really nice views from those towers.

Holt Renfrew Cafe ...

Apparently Rob Feenie is/was involved.

The Law Courts Inn Restaurant is atop the Law Courts (at the pond level). It is now open to the public - not sure of the hours - may be just for lunch.
For the summer:
The Red Robin (if you care for the food) @ Broadway & Oak has a great patio with a panoramic view of downtown.
The rear rooftop patio at Earls on Top (Robson St.) has a very "urban" feel to it with the Palisades looming above.
