Here's the design proposal for this project and its twin, 2015 2nd Avenue: http://www.seattle.gov/dpd/AppDocs/GroupMeetings/DRProposal3007606AgendaID1000.pdf. The Early Guidance meeting was held October 9. The meeting report is not yet avalable. These projects will definitely impact 1915 2nd Avenue which as been approved and Cristalla. I heard from a friend that there was a large turn out for this meeting.

Nice find - it looks like an interesting project. Almost like 2 additional 1521s for that area - which may be my only complaint - it perhaps looks too similar to 1521?

Right, Weber - Thompson is the architect, the firm designed 1521 and Cristalla. As a matter-of-fact, I remember reading, or maybe it was hearing, that Blaine Weber is a condo owner in the Cristalla and either serves or served as the condo association president.

Hopefully this area will fill in more like the area around O8. But it is exciting news none the less.

Yes Blaine Weber is in the Penthouse of Cristalla if my memory serves me right. All the Twins are a little strange but the design looks great. Weber Thompson does great work. This will be nice!
Great find hmaurice on the proposal.
I like the new format of the Forum.

So would they be the same height or just sister towers?

Looks like they're shrinking this one and the sister tower across the street. It's listing as 38 floors. http://web1.seattle.gov/dpd/luib/Notice.aspx?BID=258&NID=6803

Project planner Lisa Rutzick has posted the 1931/2015 2nd Ave design board report: http://www.seattle.gov/dpd/AppDocs/GroupMeetings/DRReport3007606AgendaID1000.pdf.

There will be a 2nd board review meeting on these projects Tuesday, November 27.

Yes, check the pdf in the 2nd post. Think two 1521s with minor changes.

Wait. This should be one thread about the two towers because they are both twins.

Found a render which includes a render of 1925th second:

There is already a better rendering of 1915 2nd. For the twin towers. They are a little bit to 1521ish for me, hut they are infill which we need.

I've never seen the render so I don't know. And I can't access the link hmaurice posted because my Adobe is too old and I don't feel like updating it.

I posted it for people who can't access it like me. Besides it shows 1915th 2nd and looks nice.

Ever tried looking in the Seattle Compilations thread? LOL:

There is also a thread for this project too.

I didn't post it because of that building. Silly. I posted it because it included the 1931 and 2015 2nd towers. I know there's a thread for that.

Two 440-foot high-rises proposed at 2nd & Virginia
Towers to have retail, residences
P-I STAFF

Two 440-foot towers containing a mixture of hotel rooms and residences have been proposed at Second Avenue and Virginia Street.

A 38-story building with 139 hotel rooms, 186 residences above them, street-level shops and parking for 294 vehicles is proposed for 1931 Second Ave., on the southwest corner of the intersection.

A second tower, mirroring the first in design but containing only residences and street-level retail, is proposed just across Virginia Street to the north, at 2015 Second Ave.

Both buildings are being developed by The Justen Co. LLC of Seattle and Columbia West Properties Inc. of Bellevue.

Some portions of buildings now on the site of the proposed 6,000-square foot 1931 Second Ave. tower would have to be demolished. Two existing buildings -- the Terminal Sales Annex and 1919 Second Ave. -- are undergoing landmark review by the city.

A proposed design for 1931 Second Ave. is set for consideration July 22 by the city's Design Review Board. At the meeting, the board will consider how well the developers complied with guidance it issued at meetings in October and November.

The public is invited to the meeting, which will be held at 5:30 p.m. at Seattle City Hall, 600 Fourth Ave., Room L280.
