The proposal is for a 40-story, 240 unit residential tower with 7,500 sq. ft. of retail at ground level. Parking for 360 vehicles will be located below grade.

According to the PDP design review site, this project will tentatively come back before the review board on Tuesday, Nov. 27. Given what I hear was a large turnout for the 1st review meeting for this project and its twin, I suspect the residents of the Cristalla and One Pacific Tower will be out in force.

How much attention do they pay to the "it's blocking my view" complaints?

I wouldn't think that the design review board would pay that much attention to crys of "its blocking my view" but, they are very interested in its context within the neighborhood and how well the project design responds to the physical environment in the neighborhood. Given how close this project will be to Cristalla and OPT, I can imagine some concerns about its scale, maybe some shading issues (it will cast a big shadow). To their credit, Weber - Thompson has tried to address the view issue by giving their design an assymetrical look. But, hey I'm no expert.

I'm looking forward to this. I like more towers near Pikes Place Market.

Looks like O8 has a whole bunch of competitors. Pretty soon we'll have a whole bunch of 400 foot residential towers popping up everywhere.

This has shrunk a floor. It's now listed as 39 floors.
