a strip of bars on 1 St SW. Since it was a Tuesday night, it was fairly quiet. I didn't mind, I didn't get a Big Slice in the back.

Coming soon! The old Old Spaghetti Factory got torn down in the last boom which turned to a bust before anything could be built there. In the nineties it became a large municipal parking garage. Now the new Old SF is the site for a potential office building project by Cadillac Fairview.

Fifth Avenue Place, two 34 storey towers, head office for Imperial Oil - EXXON/Mobil. Since they moved their head office from Toronto, IOL has been squished into several office towers. Maybe they will build a new head office?

in the last boom in the early eighties, this was going to be a small office tower. However, by the time the foundation and underground parking had been completed, the boom was a bust and it sat for at least a decade.
In the mid nineties, this building was completed over the original parking structure. There is retail on the main floor, offices on the second floor, and a residence on the third.

Impatient 4X4 going out of bounds trying to escape as there were 5 lanes merging into one for paving on the causeway - west bound traffic was backed up for kms.

Take another route - there aren't any! Paving on the westbound causeway Tuesday night Oct 9, part of the causeway widening project.

......Say, I was wondering....Does Calgary have a second downtown area like some cities do, or are all the tall buildings Downtown?

Mostly all downtown.

Like Surreal said, its mostly all downtown, about 33 million sq ft of office space. There are pockets of suburban office development, but nothing close to a second downtown.
All of these pics are from the downtown area except for DQ (NW Calgary), the traffic on the causeway, and the night cyclists (SW Calgary).

Thanks everyone for having a look and for your kind comments!

Thanks Tokama, I'm getting bored with our present buildings and downtown skyline, so it will be really something to see all these new projects become reality.

MAN I enjoyed your tour ! - Thank-you.
I sure hope this boom keeps going for years and we don't end up with abandoned constructon sites again.
