Nice shot. I have never said it, but Don you get some really good photo shoots of Phoenix. Very nice. Mention needs to go to HX too. Both of you rock with your photo spreads.
I can't wait to see the same shot again later after Cityscape and CPE begin to fill out the skyline.
On a side note: I really feel that Omega and the Jet will both begin construction next year despite the current market. I'm sticking to my guns on that call.:)

Great viewpoint Don, it's amazing how packed together downtown and midtown look, especially the Viad tower...it looks like it's right next to the Sheraton.
Did you try messing with the contrast at all to take away from of the haze?

Are those the white tanks in the backround? Wow, they look huge. Yes cityscape will help but think about the projects around the art museum.

Answers:
1. This was taken from the National Trail off of the easternmost trailhead (Buena Vista) at the top of the mountain, accessible from Central Avenue.
2. Exif data can be found by right-clicking on the image, saving it to your hard drive, then looking at properties. To save time:
F stop: f/5
Shutter Speed: 1/2500 sec
Speed: ISO 100
-1.7 stops (exposure compensation)
Aperture Priority
I was hand-holding the camera without a tripod so I wanted a fast shutter speed to avoid blur.
3. The air was horrible that day. This image IS cleaned up as much as I can in Photoshop without intoducing too much noise into the image.
4. Those are not the White Tanks in the background. Those are the Bradshaw Mountains south of Prescott.

YOu should get a monopod.
At F5-ISO100-1/2500th, that is DAMN good.

Nice pic. Can't wait until there's 3-4 Cityscape towers in the foreground to add some much needed density...
