Existing: Commerce Court North - Toronto

Future: The Bow - Calgary
Reasoning - Diagrid, Curves, Huge Atrium, Transparent Glass... what's not to love?

For the past, I'd go with Place Victoria or Commerce Court. Place Ville Marie is cool in a nostalgic way.

For the future, The Bow easily. 4 x 15 storey atriums up one side, a boomerang shaped floorplate, cross bracing and good height. Sorry Graupner, you might as well face the facts.

In 1888, when canada's first skyscraper was built in Montreal. By the by, Montreal is this small town north of Yorkville and east of your suburb, Ottawa.

There's not many in Canada that I really fall over love.

Canterra in Calgary
Tour de la Bourse, Montreal
1000, Montreal, I like 1250, but 1000 is just so dreamy in the evening

We'll see how The Bow turns out, I think it's going to be super cool from some angles. However the true sexiest office tower is really being built in Shanghai right now.

RBC is now bigger than Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch? When did this happen, any articles about this?

this happened recently when all (except goldman sachs) the US banks' stock prices started plummeting. The strong canadian dollar coupled with the big US banks writing down billions and billions of losses this quarter related to subprime. Merrill Lynch 8 Billion. Citigroup 11 billion. I believe morgan stanley 3 billion?? RBC has now more market cap than Merrill and Morgan and is therefore larger. RBC was already huge anyways, but this is for real!

Market Caps today:

RBC 71 billion USD
TD 52 Billion USD

Citigroup 166 Billion USD
Goldman Sachs 85 billion USD
Morgan Stanley 54 billion USD
Merrill 46 billion usd
Lehman 30 Billion USD

I think Commerce Court North is a great example of early skyscrapers in Canada. I quite like the Marine Building in Vancouver too. Some more recent scrapers I really like include Royal Bank, Scotia Plaza, Bankers Hall and 1250 Rene-Levesque.

There are plenty of attractive skyscrapers both under construction and proposed in a number of Canadian cities, and while many of them are very high-quality designs most of them are not what I would call innovative or ground-breaking, with the glaring exception of The Bow. Therefore I would have to say The Bow is Canada's sexiest office tower of the future.

Amoung buildings currently u/c, the Bow wins hands down in all respects. Nothing else comes close, including that "thing" currently under construction in Winnipeg.
....

As for "best" or "sexist" amoung all current office buildings, it may be in a bit of a competition with some that have been built in the past 30-40 years. And there are a lot of those around in all parts of the country including Calgary. -

Some odd choices here:
CN Building in Edmonton? Er....is Edmonton's architectual stock so limited that the CN Building is considered sexy? It looks like typical 60s government shite to me.

Canterra? I don't understand the appeal of this tower in Calgary. There nothing offensive or inspiring about it, just an ordinary 80s skyscraper. Once the Bow rears is beautiful head, this forgettable glassy tower will become just that, forgettable.

Hey, there's some good looking girls out west. The problem is the attraction for me stops as soon as they open their mouths and start spewing their usual self-absorbed obnoxious BS.

While we're on the topic of obnoxious Canadian girls: Has anybody noticed those T-shirts that say "Everyone loves a Canadian girl" or "I'm not just perfect, I'm a Canadian girl" ? I see them quite often on girls at the airport. No doubt going on a trip wearing that crap. Even Americans aren't so overtly self-absorbed. I'm sure the locals in whatever country they're going to (probably Mexico, where else do young Canadians travel really?) love being told that Canadian women are the best in the world... how condescending.

Travel overseas as much as I have and you'll realize how brutal the chicks in Canada are. They are the most selfish, demanding, overbearing women on the planet. They expect everything but give nothing.

Winnipeg may not be the model that leaves your jaw bruised from when it hit the floor. Instead, Winnipeg is like the girl next door.
