The downtown scrapers are mostly situated at the west end of the core but it is run down and shaby.
We could really pump some life back to the district!
Build some skyscrapers and plazas, rivitalise sparks in that area so it dosn't look so drowsy and abbandoned and for god's sake, get rid of the Qweem-Bronson-Laurier corner!

we could make this part of town a touristic attraction, the envy of the world!

but I will need some ideas.

I don't feel the area around Parliment should be dominated by skyscrapers, maybe a few blocks futher south or to the west. What downtown does need is quatity architecture, most streets are dull and uninviting.

The map links to Portage and Main in Winnipeg -- VERY West End. It'd be nice to see more inspiring architecture in the core. That won't happen while the largest tenant (the Federal Government) maintains its insistence on maximum square footage for the lowest possible price and while the government's purse strings open only with an accompanying Canada-wide sentiment that a dollar spent in Ottawa is a dollar plus GST too much.

Just add some vertical extentions!
The buildings would be able to sustane the weight!

I don't think that Centretown is the spot for skyscrappers. there are too many heritage buildings there. It should be high density lowrise infill. But, there should be skyscrappers just West around Lebreton at the City place and around. I always think that a 50 storey pointy building like Canary Warf would look stunning there with a bunch of other nicely designed buildings as well and condos. It could be the new financial district.
