Some pics from Christmas Street at The Hudson's Bay Queen Street store in downtown Toronto. This is a great little holiday tradition The Bay does in the flagship stores. The Bay takes part of the 5th floor and turns it into a Christmas wonderland with different rooms decorated with a different theme. Just a note. Eventhough it is only Dec 3, most of the decorations on Christmas Street are sold. So you will see trees that are kinda not full of decorations, or racks of one kind of decoration. Thats because most stuff is sold out already. You will still get the effect though of how it looks :)

CHRISTMAS STREET
5TH FLOOR
HUDSON'S BAY QUEEN STREET STORE, TORONTO
An older picture showing the outside of the Hudson's Bay Queen Street Store. This building was built in 1895 for the Robert Simpson Department Store. An addition was added in the 1920's. The store was bought by Hudson's Bay Company in the 1970's, and changed to a Hudson's Bay store in the 1990's. The store features 1 million sq feet of shopping, and the second largest department store in North America, after MACY'S Herald Square. Anyway lets head up to Christmas Street.

The Canadiana section of Christmas Street. Features a Canadian theme, and also celebrates the Hudson's Bay Company History, which spans 330 years, and is the oldest corporation in North America. The coloured stripes you see, are from the Hudson's Bay blankets, which were traded with the Native Indians for furs.

Now its time to go to the 8th floor and have a nice lunch at the Arcadian Court Restaurant, a landmark since the 1920's. Have lunch and listen to the piano.
