I'm looking for a great place to go for New Years Eve in Hamilton. I'm especially interested in a non-dance club type of place - not my scene. Any suggestions? I went to McKibbin's in Montreal last year and had a great time if that's any indication of my preferences.
Maybe we can use this area to mention any NYE events in Hamilton, even if they don't interest me personally. :)

Used to have First Night at City Hall but I think that got cut after amalgamation. Hopefully once City Hall is back open from renovations and the forecourt is done First Night will come back. In Mississauga they are gonna have laser shows and fireworks for Canada's Day.
Before CH moved their New Year TV celebration at Niagara Falls they used to broadcast from Connaught Hotel, they used to have nice New Year parties. I think Sheraton still does.
I can't think of anything else.

If you liked McKibbon's, then I would suggest a place like Corktown Pub (http://www.corktownpub.ca/index2.html) on Young by Ferguson for NYE in Hamilton. If you are looking for a nice dinner and a few cocktails to live music to ring in the new year, I would suggest Incognito (http://www.incognitorestaurant.ca) on John St. by Hunter.

I thought of the Corktown after I had initially posed the question. I've been there a couple of times since the renovation, but for some reason it continues to fly under my radar. I'm so used to it being a dumpy trashy place.
