Those nfld names are gold! There's a town in Quebec that's called Ste-Tite. It only sounds funny to anglophones though. Ste-tite actually has a large annual Rodeo, probably one of the biggest in Canada, you'd think you're in a french Alberta when there.

Not an Ontario place, but one of my favourites: Saint-Louis-du-Ha! Ha!, Quebec.

Oungah is midway between Chatham and Wallaceburg

Zone Township is in the middle of nowhere (actually in the county formerly known as Kent)

Also in that same former county is the village of Paincourt (not so strange if you know it's French)

In Essex county there's a place called Puce

Lobo is near London

I blame the German's lack of knowledge of English. Probable thinking of an English translation of Geilfurt.

It was either that or "Lakehead" and Lakehead isn't a good city name.

Interesting story: when they had a referendum on what to name the city, the choices were Thunder Bay, Lakehead, or The Lakehead. The vast majority chose Lakehead or The Lakehead, but the vote was split and Thunder Bay squeezed between.

Mantario - The Best of Manitoba & Ontario in one place!

Unity, Success, Love, Plenty, Reward, Smiley - No wonder people are moving back to Saskatchewan!

Robsart, Wishart, Dysart - Who says there's no art in Saskatchewan?

Hoosier - I wonder what the girls who work there look like?

Woman missing following truck crash
Tb News Source | Web Posted: 12/24/2007 11:31:19 AM
http://www.tbsource.com/Localnews/index.asp?cid=103197

A woman is missing after the tractor trailer in which she was a passenger plunged off a bridge and into a ravine near Hearst. Police say the driver -- a 41-year-old man from Biggar, Saskatchewan -- lost control while avoiding another vehicle. Although he was treated for minor injuries, his passenger -- a36-year-old woman also from Biggar -- was ejected from the vehicle, and remains missing.

Hope they find her. If she's in good shape she could last as much as 3 days, if she knows what to do. If not, less than 12 hours. Missing in Northern Ontario in winter is the last thing you want to be. :(
