On another thread in this forum, http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=142857, some questions were asked about some Downtown Fort Worth buildings. Rather than hijack Atomic Glee's thread with his wonderful photographs, I decided to answer the questions in this separate thread. I took about half of these photos this summer, while the rest were taken on Christmas Eve 2007.

Kevin From Texas wanted to see full building photographs of the Maddox-Muse Center and the McDavid Studio, so below I have the photos.

Plinko requested more photos of the Land Title Block (1889), and the first picture is an overall shot. Unfortunately, this building and its neighbor, which serves as a kitchen to the Flying Saucer are the only two buildings left on the block.

I like downtown's like ft. worth where there are still a lot of the old brick buildings with a lot of details that contrast with the newer glass towers.

I just had to post a few to answer the two questions from Atomic Glee's thread. It's been a while since I have posted anything.

I'm currently redesinging my Architecture in Fort Worth site and I've been busy trying to reach my goal of riding 3,000 miles on my bicycle this year.

BTW, the painted brick on your project doesn't look *that* bad. I've had client do much worse to me on jobs.

That art-deco, McDavid studio is beautiful.

Both new parts of that block are great, and fit nicely with the restored hospital that's part of the facility as well.

The Maddox-Muse and the deco McDavid Studio were both built in 1997.

Plinko, the brick was supposed to have been left unpainted. The building was constructed around 1909 and was originally a meat market. For most of the time that I can remember, it was a greasy spoon with great food called Terry's Grill. After Terry's closed, a few restaurants came and went and finally the building was purchased and the new owners hired us to convert the building into a bar. It has now become one of the more popular places in the southern section of downtown.

Fort Worth has a very nice downtown, and overall it is a pretty great place to live. However, I am biased, since I am a native.

I thought I would take the time to add four photos that I took of the new Omni Hotel construction. When finished, it is supposed to be the city's second tallest building.

The building under construction in the foreground is a new parking garage to serve the entire area, since three blocks of surface parking have been removed for the hotel and the garage. Hotel parking is in three levels beneath the hotel itself.

Yes, the Omni Fort Worth Hotel is beginning to shape up. I'm planning to get out on New Years Day for another shoot of the construction.

I also noticed today that the cooling tower has been installed on the roof of the Carnegie Building. I was out riding my bicycle on the trails along the river, and these trails have great skyline views.
