was it a joke that Toronto is murder city?

There was something like 82 murders in Toronto in 2007 which is a lot for a Canadian city

^^ Yeah, it's a joke.

Thank you. I felt the need to include that in the thread on SSC, but perhaps it was required here too. :haha:

I actually stole it from a television show...

Stay away from Toronto or you'll get shot...

Nice pics, they show a lot of density.

that's Osgoode Hall, silly. If you don't know Osgoode Hall, then you really don't know Toronto as well as you thought you did.

that's a great photo... those 60's/70's concrete slabs can be extremely cool. Toronto has quite a few of these types of buildings and I imagine that they will be much more appreciated in the future.

The problem with these slabs is the way they meet the street, and the fact that our climate can really make them look like crap in the winter. Otherwise, I agree.

I don't mind the way some of them meet the street. They're sort of inherently monolithic and powerful and evoke a kind of surreal scale (similar to some deco)... like this:

I think that's the most people in a downtown I've ever seen.

Nice set. Gotta admit I had a great time at Doors Open in TO back in '06. Of course I was with a bunch of maniacs, so maybe that's what made it so special.:D

Appreciate the pictures. I stayed near Queen West a couple of times last summer. Pic of Widmer Street was a pleasant surprise.

Really? A number of the street pictures were taken in the Financial District and Club District on a Saturday morning, and aside from Yonge St, didn't really get to a lot of the high-traffic pedestrian zones. (Queen St, Spadina, Dundas, Bloor, etc.)
