Some early information on improvments coming to the Toronto Transit Commission bus service come Feb 17, 2008. The TTC has been waiting for funding to add bus service. These improvments are just a small part of major service improvments coming all year long, as long as funding continues to come.
I have only listed major major improvments below. Besides these major improvments, a large number of routes are seeing improved service levels during all time periods.
All I can say is check out the bus service overnight. Yes you are reading it right, a bus every 3min 30 seconds. :)
Unless noted these changes apply to weekday service.
300 BLOOR DANFORTH NIGHT BUS
Service will improve from a bus every 15 min to a bus every 7,30 between 2:45-3:15am & 5:15-5:45 weekdays. As well as 2:45-3am & 5:15-5:45 Saturdays. Service improves from a bus every 10 min to a bus 6'45 between 7-9am Sundays.
39E FINCH EAST EXPRESS
Peak hour service will improve from a bus every 1'30" to a bus every 1'19"
39 FINCH EAST.
NEW MIDDAY EXPRESS SERVICE.
Midday service will alternate between 39D Local and 39E Express, with service improving from a bus every 3 min, to a bus every 2'30".
Afternoon service improving from a bus every 2'08" to a bus every 1'55.
NEW EARLY EVENING EXPRESS SERVICE.
Early evening service will alternate between 39D Local and 39E Express, with service improving from a bus every 4' min to a bus every 3' min.
Late evening service improving a from a bus every 8' min to a bus every 5'.
NEW SATURDAY DAYTIME EXPRESS SERVICE
Sat daytime local service improving from a bus every 8' min to a bus every 7'30".
Sat morning service to alternate between 39D Local and 39E Express, with service improving from a bus every 4'30" to a bus every 3'15".
Sat afternoon local service improving from a bus every 4' min to a bus every 3 min
Sat late evening service improving from a bus every 8' min to bus every 7'.
Sunday early evening service improving from a bus every 7'45" to a bus every 6'30".
53E STEELES EAST EXPRESS
New early evening EXPRESS BUS SERVICE operating every 10' min.
Combined early evening local service improving from a bus every 7 min to a bus every 5 min.
320 YONGE NIGHT BUS
11 buses added
Service improving overnight from a bus every 7'30" to a bus every 7' min north of York Mills. South of York Mills service improves overnight from a bus every 7'30" to a bus every 3'30".
