Only if you compare renderings. X could turn out to be a window wall disaster and Casa's hat and parkade podium could still ruin it.
Murano is one of the best to come out of this boom and it's public art contribution greatly contributes to its design and the public realm around it. Fingers crossed!

Andrew and Coldrx you guys don't understand about Success......
Success is when you break up the squat concrete bunkers down at harbour with a tall and elegant glass and pre-cast tower. - It soars above all the other condos below and it brings a focal point to an area in which all the previous towers were capped at 40 stories so... they bascially look like one giant wall when viewed from the lake.
Success...when teamed up with, MLS, ICE, Telus, and 18 York will provide some relief from the concrete..create focal points with hieght and break up the nasty brown with sleek slim glass......
This type of Success is the Pinnacle...of HARDCORE!!

I will say this, it has turned out much better then it's render. I do get that it breaks the wall up on the waterfront, I don't agree it's sleek and sexy though. Regardless of how you use it Precast is a four letter word most of the time.

^I toyed with approaching them but figured it would be a waste of time. They could have at least had the class to send me a message here to ask permission rather than stealing.
Nonetheless, here's where Casa's at today. Currently at work on the 31st floor.
I forgot to check up-close in-person, but it looks as though they've gotten rid of the dead tree that was in the centre of the property... Also, a question for those in the neighbourhood: Walking down Charles today I suddenly noticed how sparse the trees seemed. Maybe it's just because it's winter, but were any other trees removed in the past while (like near the post office on the north side?)

But you have to take into account that if the building was 15 floors shorter it wouldn't stand out at all. As all the other buildings in the area were previously capped at 40 floors.
That's why we have that giant concrete bunker wall along our waterfront.

Height's not just a matter of distance. It also goes to the building's proportions, and whether it looks sleek or stubby.

WTF? The massing is part of Harbour Square's design. It wouldn't look any different if it was 60 storeys. I like it in the typical 1970s beach resort sense. The above ground parking garage is unfortunate as are the twin towers addition in the early 1990s.

Its not just the height, its the buildings proportions; sleek & slender.
Who doesn't like that?
If you know what I mean, same applies here, least to me.
And yes I do think its better than other recent buildings that have been built in that district. Not including MLS, its a bit early to judge that one just yet.

I can't believe that thing has 15 more floors to go......it's already stunningly beautiful. - It's like a crystal in a sea of concrete...and you know, I didn't really have high expectations for this condo.
I think it's turning out better than Murano......

Allow me to interupt all the Toronto pictures with an update shot from arriVa 42 here in Calgary. Picture taken on March 2nd by me:

They appear to have focused in the last month and a bit on getting the entire underground parking up to grade. From that point I believe we'll start to see the entire podium for both remaining towers get built up, with arriVa 42 rising vertically after that.
