Uptown is gonna be huge indeed... It's still got quite a bit more to pour before top out... Festival kinda does look like an office tower... especially if you take away the balconies... The cladding is office like too!

Uptown and Crystal Blu are definetly not skyscrapers that bring out the best in Toronto Architecture/skyscrapers... so it makes us look bad in a way... but we've got plenty of other fine lookin skyscrapers to contend with Vancouver :haha: !

Yeah.. I second that!

I mean.. Absolute shot out of nowhere! Its insanely epic! :tup:! But it might just stop here... I mean... Absolute World could be the dominant king/queen of Mississauaga for the next 20 years!.. ya never really know...

Alot of suburbs/sub-urban cities are getting up and beyond the 150m mark! the Next one to dominate this list is the Hullmark Centre in North York! If it were built right now it would be the tallest building in Yorkville! (that is until Four Seasons and 1Bloor are built ;) )

Nice updates on the projects! Absolute world is looking better and better! When Absolute 2 is higher up the area will be insane with these towers!

There was a fire last night at Crystal blu (as reported on UT)... I don't have much info on it but i heard it was fairly large:

In Urban dreamers shot you can see how nicely crystal blu fits into the skyline... its height is just right for the skyline! and compared to his last shot, you can see how quickly uptown is catching up... :D

Uptown still has quite a ways to go...

Uptown is SOOOO tall now! I love how it looks with the setbacks!

The Uptown Crane also helped bring down the crane at Crystal Blu...

I wonder if the person who owned that unit was informed... it must be spooky knowing that a fire took place in your unit when the building was still under construction!

Yorkville is choice...

And its getting so dense...... with good skyscrapers. I honestly hope we see more tall proposals coming through once the One Bloor, and U Condo projects have been completed. It truely can become a city within a city.

I think Bloor and Yorkville is becoming Bloor/Yorkville... we're seeing all sorts of architecture that they're sorta merging together now...

we're losing hieght with the towers coming off the list, but were getting a good size number of mid ranged hieght towers to take their place in the construction ranks...

Thanks Cal! I'm stoked for Burano. I think Murano was kinda shortchanged, since lots of attention was paid to Casa and X Condos, but yet not nearly as much to Murano, which is taller than either, and Burano, just across the street, will be even taller yet!

I think there's/were just too many projects on this "category" of skyscrapers (condos in the 150m range) such as X, Casa, etc... that Its really hard to give alot of attention to an individual project (such as Murano)...

Right now, Burano hasn't gotten a whole lotta attention but i'm sure once people start noticing it go up, its bound to get some attention! Its gonna be the tallest skyscraper in the Bay/College cluster of skyscrapers! (until Aura dominates everything in the area... literally)...

Lumiere also didn't get too much attention... it just sorta shot up one day! (imo) :haha: :haha:

Crystal blu looks like it belongs there now! It seems at home now that the cladding is practically done! I'm so glad how many gaps crystal blu filled in! :D

I would say that's the brutalism at work. That's why I prefer the older architectural styles like brutalism and art deco to the current styles. They look taller, even if they aren't.

I think why Manulife dominates so much is due to its dimensions and the way it looks... It covers a HUGE area on its north and south facing sides and the sight of all those windows is crazy! Also, on the corners, they are shaped like Bay Adelaide and First Canadian giving you that crazy tall corner look!

I said it once and i'll say it again... Not a fan of this era of design but if every building looked as tall as Manulife did i'm all for it :D :banana: !
