How often does the train go by?
So often you won't even notice it.

Nice job! Do you live in the Ravenswood or Lincoln Square area? I noticed several shots within fairly close proximity to the Damen brown line stop. That was my old el stop before relocating to East Lakeview. Again, this was a very enjoyable thread to view! I like looking at photos like these and trying to identify where each one was taken. :)

Great Photos. I am jealous, it looks like you are having so much fun. My Camera is out of commission while its being repaired. A couple of comments.

Is this the park near the water filtration plant?

Thanks folks!

Ohioguy - I did live in Ravenswood, but had to leave for a job out here in New Hampshire. I miss the hell out of it and am looking at Chicago jobs again so I can move back. It is such a nice neighborhood, a nice mix of quiet and family-friendly but still vibrant enough to be fun.

Cbautz - that is the park out by the filtration plant. It's nice, but like any Chicago park, could use 10x more benches.

Great pics, Chicago is a must-live-city for me. Someday I hope. And a question: What are those stairs for in the 7th pic down?

This really shows how massive Chicagoland becomes:

Thanks for sharing. Chicago looks "chicago-y" as ever. Jealous of your skyline. The Sears Tower makes me drool.

^ that must be what it is. That really must be. Because as I was looking at these, unlike most of the other chicago sets, all I could do was reminisce about amazing times I have been by myself in the city just contemplating life and taking it all in. And it's in the winter that it is especially possible to do so, with snow muffling the ground, and cold keeping people away from me in the warmth of their house. Times when I know I live in the comfort of a gigantic city, but I can still be by myself.

Thanks a lot! And thank you for the Beloite thread, too. I've been going there every thanksgiving day since I can remember things with my brain

So many desktop-worthy shots here, hope you don't mind that I used one (the colourful one with the skyline silhouette).

I love that, I know Calgary would be a little different than Chicago, but walking around a city in the winter with nobody around is awesome.
