To really bring out a glassy look one part of the building must be much lighter than the rest, but it still must be a gradual progression.

What tools did you use to do your glass effect?

I use Photoshop 7, and I find the dodge and burn tools to be great for rendering cloud effects(As well as purely shadowing and highlighting). Sometimes the plastic wrap feature can add a nice glassy imperfection effect if manipulated correctly. There are other various effects that can be used as well, but I find that it really sometimes depends on the building being drawn.

What you have to do with the airbrush more is to layer the colors. Airbrush a larger area and then lighten and darken areas within the airbrushed area. Clouds aren't one big mass of one lightness or darkness. They have depth.

They are all good and #1 & #3 work particularly well. I think LM's suggestion to increase the contrast on your 1KCP is a good one. Doing that will help emphasise it's shininess whereas rigt now it's a bit flat. It is true that what is required for each building differs widely -- trial & error! Keep up the good work though!

kelvin, LM, how would I add depth? everytime I add darker colors, it just makes the clouds more non transparent.
this is all i have come up with doing what you guys said...

Make your building lighter as it reaches the top, because usually (depending on the building), the sun most likely will hit the top of the skyscraper. The then air brush the lighter part of the tower near the top with an even lighter color. I use the freehand select tool, actually, and draw erratically and then use the lighten and darken tool.

Sometimes it helps if the window panes aren't reflective.
