I posted these pics of Kentish Town in my London (http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=130955/) photo thread, but i think i'll give them there own seperate thread, to go along with my Hampstead (http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=147650/) photo thread.

Kentish Town is located in the London Borough of Camden, a few miles north of Kings Cross, and right next to its more famous neighbour, Camden Town. It has a reputation as being a little rough around the edges, a a bit run-down etc.

However, this was the first time i've properly explored the area, and i must say i was very pleasantly surprised, it has a lively, quite friendly atmosphere (i thought, some would disagree), and if you explore the back streets there are many incredibly well preserved victorian townhouses - it all looks very nice (much like what you would see in more upmarket areas of West London).

All in all, i think i could see myself living in Kentish Town - moreso than Hampstead (which is nice, but a lacks that buzz and edginess that i like) :D

Anyway, on with the pics - enjoy....

21. Now, moving up towards Highgate (but still in what i would class as 'Kentish Town' - even if the residents don't agree :| ). This is Little Green Street, it's been in the local news recently because the area behind it is going to be redeveloped, and little green street is the only access point for lorries....as you can see, its about 6ft wide and this will cause disruption, and 'ruin' little green street. They even have a poster....

Thanks for the tour NBTD...

These coloured houses look horrible :D
Never been to the area apart from the Camden Market and some nearby locations... to me living in the South West London suburbs North London seems so far away :)

Great shots and great to see North London getting some props on this forum.

I spent many an evening in the auntie-annie pub featured in one of the pics - I used to have friends who lived on adjacent road. They used to have crafty lock-ins! ;)

You south Londoners are just jealous of our superior North London style and finesse :eviltongue: :D

I must admit i haven't ventured into the deep south to any great extent - it always seems like i'm visiting a parallel dimension......a world without the tube [shudder] ;)

Anyway, here's a few more pics...
