Environment Canada said on Friday that Southern Ontario can expect at least six more weeks of winter. Seeing as we have had solid snowcover since November the news is a bit, shall we say, disconcerting. Here are some shots taken near my house in Belleville's Old East Hill neighborhood, after our dumping last week.

Nice shots! Not as impressive as Montreal or Quebec City for snow accumulation, but it still looks like a considerable amount.

There are some great houses in Belleville! I believe Belleville, along with Paris, Ontario, has a significant collection of cobblestone buildings (rare in Canada).

I saw this house in a book I have from the library, "Old Ontario Houses" by Kim Ondaatje and Lois Mackenzie.

This is a superb example of the French Renaissance, or Second Empire style of architecture, in which the iron cresting which was one of the main features of French Renaissance, has been used to exquisite advantage, particularly in the coronet crowning the mini-tower.

Nice pictures and nice houses. I'm done with snow, though, with the flowers coming up and everything down here, so show me snow pictures when December rolls around.

Beautiful neighborhood!

We've had over 100 inches of snow here in New Hampshire, so I can sympathize. It's been raining lately so it all looks like hell. The grit the trucks have been laying down all winter is everywhere. This town looks like a giant litterbox!

Crazy. We've had our air conditioner on and off now for almost 2 weeks.

The landscape looks amazing with all the snow. It has a soft look to it.

Great variety of housing, and some of those rascals are gorgeous. But at some point cabin fever sets in and I think I'd be at that point right now if I were in all that white stuff. Good to know you hardy souls are holding down the fort up there in the Great White North.

Fantastic homes and Excellent photos! Looks like Denver when we get dumped on, but didn't get it like this this year. Our mountains sure did and with the low value of the dollar and little snow fall in Europe, many European are flocking here to ski. Love this stock of homes and wow, are they in great condition externally! Thanks for the post.
