Looking back at the ones driving through downtown Tikrit, it was a mistake paying more attention to the camera then the road/people. nothing happened though.

Nice videos mate - brings back some memories...
Cool videos. . . but what's the hell is going on here!?! Trouble brewin'???Many Iraqis rely on propane for cooking and it's usually distributed in those cans and sold/exchanged at such spots around the cities..
So nope, no trouble, just a propane "shop" :)

They dont happen as much as the news would let you believe. But if you are in Iraq for a extended period of time, chances are your convoy will be hit or somethin along those lines. Thats why when you train, its for that 1% chance.

^very true
I spend a combined year there, spending around 6-12 hours daily driving around and only experianced 3 IEDs - 2 of them where just improvized mortars that did no or very little damage, the other an old anti tank mine did take out a partol vehicle (http://www.danskpanser.dk/images/G270CDI_5stor.jpg) but luckily no major damage on any personal ( a little bruizes and bums where all, a large chuck of shrapness had gone trough the cars side, radio and even a packed backpack before ending up in the other side of the car barely missing a guys stomach by some 8-10cm, so pretty close )
All in all we only lost 3 men to IEDs in 5 years with millions of kilometers driven, so the risk is fairly in fact we lost the same to traffic accidents in the same time, so if the insurgents really wanted to kill us they should have rammed us with trucks :)

I would be so scared driving through Iraq, all the bad news stories traumatized me, you are one brave man.
