I'm from mysterious north-central PA! I grew up just 19 miles west of Emporium in St. Marys.

Emporium is renowned for its great pizza (http://money.cnn.com/2008/03/11/smbusiness/pizza_team.fsb/index.htm?postversion=2008031115)

You can't get much more remote than Emporium in PA... it's truly in the middle of nowhere... surrounded by dense forests for hours in every direction... the town is tucked in tightly in a steep valley

Love North Central PA! So remote and beautiful. Great canoeing, hiking, and camping throughout.

Haha, it actually does look small and bitter to me.

I'm glad we have such good coverage of all of our awesome tiny towns in PA.

Northern Wisconsin and parts of the UP have multipurpose buildings that look similar to this. They are usually "anchored" by a cheese shop (in WI at least).

Very nice. I used to drive through Emporium all the time as my family had a camp in Coudersport...brings back good memories.

Multipurpose is right, this place rivals the entire downtown area as a centre of commerce!
Nice little town though, I like the Romanesque courthouse.

A Mackinac fudge shop would be right at home here.
