Greetings and salutations transit mongers.
Any ideas if Houston Metro is trying or going to get their services up on Google Transit?

Wasn't sure if it was up to Google to add more cities or if the cities had to cooperate or push their service to get it on the system.

Ciao,

It has to be a cooperative effort, with a decent amount of work happening at both ends. Generally speaking, Google has it's own routing algorithms and map integration, so it requires feeding them the right information regarding stop locations, stop-level schedules, etc. Not sure if Houston Metro has the above to the required level of detail for Google or not (particularly in regards to the bus stop database; does Metro have exact GPS coordinates for all X,000 of its bus stops?).
