With 3 towers u/c, a 4th rumoured to start soon and the massive 16 York street proposal, the intersection of Bremner Blvd. and York Street (nothing but parking lots a few years ago) could potentially see 7 towers under construction all at this same time.
This would likely place it right at the top of Extreme Intersection Make-overs, anywhere in North America.
Post some more examples.

Toronto, you can clearly see the Royal York Hotel near the center, and the BCE buildings in the upper right.

^^ That and we can see the MikeinToronto tag on the upper left corner of the pic.;)
Off the top of my head, I think New York's Hudson Yards+MSG+Penn proposal blows everything else away in terms of size and scope (excluding Dubai, just because).

Also, the Atlantic Yards proposal in Brooklyn as well as the Transbury Towers proposal in San Fransisco would give this intersection a run for its money.

^Here's the catch... this is not just a "proposal" intersection 'cause half is under construction and the other half looks good to start.
I think most of this intersection will be built before Hudson Yards begins... and the example I posted is not a mega-development... I wouldn't call Toronto's 21 tower railway lands/Cityplace development an "intersection"... I posted an "intersection" of streets.
Over to you.
(BTW, to avoid confusion... photo credit is Mike in TO... not the dreaded miketoronto).

Damn! By my count that is 311 floors of new highrise buildings at one intersection that was nothing but surface parking two years ago. I wasn't even aware of the 16 and 18 York Street developments.

The corner of State and Oak in Chicago has all four blocks underconstruction, there are four towers (the shorest is about 30 stories, tallest 68 stories) and two low rises under construction. Also, the corner of Indiana and Roosevelt probably will beat out the NY corner with many, many, buildings built within a block of that site. The shortest being just under 700' and the tallest being about 1000'.

Basically none of the buildings in this picture were there 4 years ago and all in this picture are either under-construction or scheduled to be built over the next few years as the U/C towers sell out.
They are also currently rebuilding the train station at this intersection and there are plans to cover the railroad tracks that run in a trench through this intersection at the time. The decking of the tracks is shown in that photo.

Where does the World Trade Center site stack up against these? It seems like that would be a logical entry in the "most development on a single block or corner" sweepstakes...

^ good point... hadn't thought of that mega-site. I wonder how much of the density will actually qualify as an "intersection".

For SF, our best intersection makeover will hopefully be Fremont and Mission. I don't have a photo handy, but on the four corners we're looking at:
- existing 600' 50 Fremont
- diagonal from that is the 645' Millennium under construction and topped out
- 1000' Transbay Tower - this is proposed but almost certain to happen as its development fees will help pay for the new transit terminal
- 700' 350 Mission - this is a proposal in the very early stages
Two are basically done and the biggest is going to start within a couple of years (still much process to go through). The fourth is iffy. But overall, it's the best we've got. And just a block away is another proposed set of towers ranging up to 800'.

If Transbay and 350 Mission go ahead... this might take top honours in N. America for extreme intersection makeovers (assuming all actually meet the intersection).

50 Fremont, Millennium and 350 Mission all sit right on their corners of the intersection. Transbay will be just off the corner with a narrow plaza right at the intersection. Here's a visual on where it will be placed:

The Transbay tower is the squarish thing in the middle. Millennium is the gray area across the street to its right. So perhaps you wouldn't consider this part of that intersection. FYI, the other project I mentioned (the collection of towers up to 800') would be located about where you see the orange and yellow area in the upper left hand corner of this diagram.
