Interesting Facts/Records (in own words):
SV Zadar is the most powerful transmitter of Croatia, which works on 1134 kHz with a power of 600 kW ( before 1991 1200 kW) and
which can be received very well at night in whole Europe. It was built between 1980 and 1984. Originally it used an antenna system consisting of
four guyed mast radiators, each 132 metres tall, arranged in a square and a transmitter power of 1200 kW.
The facility was destroyed in the Croatian Independence War in 1991.
It was reconstructed after the conquest of Zadar on September 16th, 1991 and went in service again on January 10th, 1992. However only 2 of the four
masts were rebuilt and only half of the transmitter was restored. On January 10th, 1992, it went again in service.
In 2003/2004 the other two masts were rebuilt. On April 30st, 2004 the antenna was completely restored.
Notes:
It is possible that the masts built in 2003/2004 may be not of the same type as those built in 1991/92.
The station is very characteristic on European's AM dial. Its outage in 1991 was not overlookable!
