Thanks for the updates paradigm4. I was meaning to get down there and take some photos but summer us when Im the bussiest.
looks like it should have been built in 1991.
I think the final product will be much more attractive than the rendering. You cant tell much by paradigms' pictures but the glass is much darker then in the renders. Although Im not so sure I would want to buy in there considering how poorly designed the first two phases were.

The d’Corize is a 180-unit, 21-storey highrise in central Surrey, B.C.
Newgen Whalley’s d’Corize looks skyward bound
Kerkhoff Construction Ltd. is building the 160,000-square-foot d’Corize tower on behalf of owner Newgen Whalley Properties.
Focus Architecture Inc. provided the design for the project.
Engineering consultants included HY Engineering Ltd. (civil), Kerkhoff Engineering Ltd. (structural), Stantec Consulting Ltd. (mechanical) and Jarvis Engineering Ltd. (electrical).
Construction started in May 2007 and is scheduled to be complete in 2009.
The developer also has plans for a second building, the d’Corous, on a site across the street from the d’Corize. A promotional banner for that project has already been unfurled.

I believe that they either have one or two floors left that do not have their windows yet. I will try to take a photo as I go by tomorrow on my way to campus. It really does look a lot better than the renders.

I've been trolling the Surrey website and I found that D'Corous is up next because of the slower real estate market, but they do have plans for a 22-storey highrise to go across the street from D'Corize.

FYI, this tower is almost complete. The crane should be down very soon (probably waiting for mechanical), and there are just a few windows to fill in. In response to the earlier 1991 comments, I agreed with them at the time, but this building as it has been finished, is very nice looking!
I will grab some photos next week hopefully.

yeah it appears the glazing on this building has resqued what appeared to be a pretty marginal project. Some pics would be greatly appreciated

i really hope they build another tower across the street from this one
cause as it stands it looks kind a wierd facing that one part of 104 by itself

they got some nice pics of this tower there
but i'll post them here still for the people who are lazy
also the site had this to say about this
D’Corize development
The tower is nearly complete. A second tower, D’Corous, is a co-development with the City set to be build adjacent to D’Corize.

Not too bad. I'm glad it's not downtown but I'm happy to see more highrises in Surrey, mediocre or not. Thanks for posting the pics.

From what I understand, D'Corous will be another 4-storey lowrise a la D'Cor. The developers are saving the last highrise (22 storeys and at 104 Ave) for when the market swings back in their favour.

Not bad.
The penthouse vaulted ceilings remind me of the 889 Homer building by Bing Thom, but this one has more of a tacked on look (like The Pinnacle in Vancouver, also on Homer Street)

D'Corous has been cancelled if you didn't know:
Due to severe economic downturn, Newgen Central Properties Inc. sold its joint venture interest in d'Corous project with Surrey City Development Corporation. Newgen sold its interest to its partner, City of Surrey.

If that building can be seen from the Patullo then imagine what Surrey's future skyline will look like from that vantage point.

Nice pics! Hopefully Surrey continues to pump out these 20 to 30 story towers while the big ones are under planning, this way they really will develop a city core.

i took a picture from king george skytrain the other day but it was to dark to really share
but it was a good view i was at ground level just out side the king george hwy exit and you could see all the towers down the road.
I should have went up on the concourse level and took a look out probably would have been a good view.

I walked by this place a few hours ago and it seems like construction inside the unit proper is nearing completion. The gym area was finished and outfitted with the equipment and the flooring looked to be finished. I guess all that's left to do is the exterior landscaping/beautifying.

I just walked by here a little while ago and I gotta say, it's looking mighty fine.
Everything from the red brick at the base, to the colour they painted the concrete, to the little art touches along the front face at the corner of 104/West Whalley just looks awesome. The lobby also looks great, too.

I saw lights on on a number of floors today, and people going in and out of the lobby. If someone else can corroborate this, I'd say we can call this one Completed.
