I figured we should have a "what the heck is this?" thread where we can post pictures of things found in Hamilton in the hopes of getting more information about it. I'll go first with the building pictured here on John South. Anybody have any history on it? Looks like it was something very important at one time judging by the crest.

Look up at the stone work - and you'll find interlocking H D - this used to be the Hamilton Dairy building.
The upstairs is empty and is supposed to be amazing - a friend who grew up in the neighbourhood regaled me with tales one day of John South...

i've always admired that building. lofts would be great in that upper space.
I walk by this bldg every day on my commute and never even had a clue that it was a Dairy! I thought it looked like a carriage warehouse or something!
That upper floor would make one (or two) awesome loft (or lofts)!

What is it? It's a street in south London, is what it is.
