Anyone know if there any future plans for this building since CAA closed on Main St.?

^^ They actually moved to Dundurn Plaza (Dundurn & Main/King).

No idea who they sold the bldg to, but it seems the 'for sale' sign is gone now?

From what I understand the CAA building on Main East was part of the parcel of properties the Latter Day Saints bought up a while ago for their new downtown church.

So... I would assume it will be flattened and turned into parking?

I am trying to find the original city proposal - I think it was posted on SSP once upon a time (Steeltown do you remember where?). If memory serves, they had intentions of using it as a community centre/classroom facility.

RTH knows about this. I can't remember what thread either.

They made some changes on the Centennial Hwy office too recently.

hmm. I have the same question for the National Revenue building - Anybody know what's happening there?

The property is one of Vranich's. He had intentions of converting to condos, but this has been delayed for some time now.

Where is that building geoff?

It's that huge thing at the corner of Main W. and Caroline.

the back is ripped right off...looks like crap.
Nice job by the Vranich's.
Are they ever going to re-open Gown and Gavel??

They lost the city loan on the building because nothing was moving forward on that building.

Shame on the feds, and shame on Vranich

It appears that Vranich is sitting on the property. It's full of weird hotel things (beds, chairs, tv's, etc.). He's just using it as storage, nothing has actually changed with the property.

I'm sure ripping down the HMP beefed up his pockets with parking lot revenue.

He didn't lose the loan. He gave it back and said he'd come apply for a new one when he gets around to doing something with this building.
In other words, this site will sit like this for a long time.

maybe he could turn it into a giant strip club or brothel. that's a little more up his alley, i reckon.

Apparently from what I have heard that the gown and gavel is opening up next friday.
