It is indeed a nice city , but it looks nothing like Paris! The style of building is completely different! Not only that but the accents and food are very different from France. I would say the most Paisian city outside of Paris is Nantes , city in the Région Pays de la Loire in France.

J'chui d'accord que montréal est une ville assez sympa, mais elle n'a vraiment rien à voir avec Paris ou la France! En plus ils appelent les voitures des "chars". Bangnole , caisse ok mais chars franchment! mdr!

Montreal is more british than anything else, so you guys are right when you say it's not like Paris! The city was taken over byt the British in 1759 and the ties with France were cut at this time for more than 200 years. Except a few buildings built during the French regime (older than 1759), everything else was built following the british views! For example, this house was built following Britton (Bretagne) architecture. (built in the late 1600's I think)

http://lh4.ggpht.com/_j_rPBn2vKi8/RoKyGSjQzhI/AAAAAAAAA2I/Y6pg-AwEzPY/038+Maison+Pierre+de+Calvet.JPG

Now this is French architecture, and even then this has nothing to do with Paris, which was almost completely torn down under Napoleon by Haussman and rebuilt in a completeley different way. We don't find such houses in Paris, we find them far into the french country! Montreal do have a little something french, but it is not that apparent in the architecture, it is more apparent in the vibes of the city and its soul.

Les voitures à Montréal il y a 30 ans étaient des chars.

J'aime les images.
